Most of us see the New Age Movement as an attempt to re-discover ancient spiritual traditions in order to find an alternative to today’s nihilistic mainstream culture. However, there is great controversy about where these teachings are leading us.

A very prominent movement in politics today, New World Order, has a lot in common with the New Age Movement in its goals of unity, oneness, and ideally peace. However, it also implies omnipotence of one group of people over the entire human race. There are already steps being taken in that direction such as World Bank and North American Free Trade Agreement, both of which are discussed below. Do these groups have benevolent goals? Are they leading us in the right direction, or merely trying to arrange the world to their advantage?

The goal of this section is to explore the possibility of New Age Movement being used as a vehicle to bring about the passiveness and global acceptance needed to establish the New World Order.

Most New Age activity may be characterized as a form of alternative spirituality. Alternative (to the mainstream Western culture) health practices often have a spiritual dimension, such as the integration of mind, body, and spirit. New Age ideas and practices seem to contain implicit critiques of mainstream Christianity. An emphasis on meditation suggests that ordinary prayer is insufficient; belief in reincarnation (which not all accept) challenges familiar Christian doctrines of the afterlife.

For most people the search begins with the familiar childhood religious practices. Religion forms a solid foundation of knowledge to expand and build on. Many are not satisfied with the traditional answers and choose to explore their spirituality further. Discovering the New Age Movement and spirituality can be a slow process based on intuition and chance. Learning to trust your intuition comes in time through trial and error. Meditation helps this process, but do not forget to pause in silence during meditation or in prayer to allow the answer to come to you.

I truly believe we each possess our own truth and know the answers. We should learn to listen to our intuition and not let others, no matter how important or powerful, influence our own inner knowledge. Discovering has been an ever-changing process for me. I have studied almost every topic and teachings that metaphysics offers. My opinions and beliefs in different areas have changed from year to year as I learned more.

We all begin searching for answers with different intentions. Some topics are just interesting and entertaining, while others can be integrated into our daily lives. As we learn more, our opinions change and we grow. Things are introduced to us as we need them, but it’s up to us to learn from them. We can only then move forward through accepting our life experiences. We don’t always get what we want but we get what we need.

Every thought we have has its own vibration. Whatever it is we are doing has its own vibration signal. What we say and what we feel may not match leaving no congruence between the two. When our thoughts and feelings match, our energy is purely aligned. The manifestation must then take place because there is no opposition. Our bodies are the measuring tool of our direction. How do we feel? Thought is as powerful as action and what happens in our lives is a manifestation of positive or negative thoughts.

Thoughts are things. Listen to your inner voice and avoid pain and struggle.

Be curious and open, yet skeptical. Always be ready to move forward when you reach a conclusion. Always take steps reaching out with your left hand and pulling the person behind you along with your right.

Channeling is the purported process of receiving dialogs of information through psychic, telepathic, empathic, or intuitive channels. Channeling also refers to divining information from one's higher mind.

The most well known, well documented channeled was Edgar Cayce. Cayce was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky 18 March 1877, and died 3 January 1945. During his life, Cayce made numerous predictions accompanied by long dialogs of information about future events, the directions health and science would take, and world politics. The accuracy of many of his predictions continues to defy the odds, though his methods are unexplained by science and therefore remain controversial.

Cayce, a photographer by trade with no medical background, also performed some 14,000 personal readings, aiding people around the world with healing advice for adverse physical conditions. Cayce's seemingly unlimited knowledge, when channeling, could not be explained and drew the attention of many academics, reporters and medical doctors in an attempt to expose what they expected to be clever trickery. Instead each came away believing Cayce to be legitimate, albeit without an understanding of his talents.

Cayce is referred to as a psychic because the term channeled had not yet been coined. Although Cayce could be called psychic, his talent went beyond what we normally associate with psychics. Psychics, like those who aid in modern police investigations, normally receive flashes or impressions, and disjointed snippets of information. This is far different than the type of phenomenon seen in Cayce, where a subject could be completely discussed in comprehensive detail, though it is a subject Cayce had no knowledge of when not in his self-induced sleep, or channel-state.

Cayce never claimed special powers, nor did he claim to be a prophet. His channeling, as he explained it, came from attaining a state of mind that was in touch with the "akashic records," a sort of universal database containing all knowledge. This pool of super consciousness contained, according to Cayce, the subconscious mind of every individual who has ever lived on earth. Cayce believed this knowledge-realm was at the basis of all consciousness and available to anyone who learned how to tap it.

Cayce was a Christian who read the Bible cover-to-cover once a year for the duration of his life, and believed people should be loving towards each other and tolerant of all religions. He dedicated his life to helping others, and continued to do personal readings even when his own health was in peril from the sheer exhaustion of trying to keep up with the scores requests that arrived from all over the world.

While the world has yet to see another Edgar Cayce, there are a fascinating few who have attracted widespread attention and earned a reputation for legitimacy among those who believe. One example is Jane Roberts (1929-1984) who channeled the Seth series, probably the best known and respected channeled of recent years. The Seth series has sold millions of copies translated into a dozen languages, and has been praised by people like Deepak Chopra for its message of living life more happily through self-realization. Still in print, the Seth series continues to fascinate readers worldwide.

Today many people lay claim to channeling, while few present the kind of overwhelming legitimacy recognized by many in the works of Edgar Cayce. Until the mechanics of channeling can be scientifically proven or dismissed it will likely remain a controversial subject, especially for those who require that science legitimize human experience before it can be considered valid.

The New Age Agenda is to bring peace to the world upon entering the Age of Aquarius.

Herein lies the Antichrist's last temptation, offered to all the world. We must prepare the world to receive the antichrist and to enter the Age of Aquarius, thus establishing the New World Order.

Many followers of New Age and one world government believe that the way to world peace is global organization with a structure of non –political and non-religious World society.

This Global Oneness movement is already in motion when you consider that steps are being taken to move to a World stock market and Global Governance. WTO can actually require that a country to change its laws, regulations and precedents -- not simply national laws but often state and local laws.

One of the most alarming expressions of Global Oneness is NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). It’s an attempt to unite all economies of the Americas by the end of 2005, under the USA agenda. It has not taken place yet as a result of Argentina’s refusal to comply with it, despite extreme pressure from George Bush and his allies. His ultimate goal is to eliminate economic borders from Canada and South America, however he is currently seeing more resistance than he expected.

The entire attempt at establishing the New World Government is very undemocratic and filled with technocrats. For the most part, all actions taken towards that goal were an American creation that conservatives supported wholeheartedly.

New Age is referred to as the Third Testament because its philosophy states that knowledge is freedom. You save yourself, you save mankind, therefore Global Oneness goes on to say that it can save the world. As we move from the Age of Pieces we move out of greed, jealousy and ignorance and move into the Age of Aquarius into higher energies like peace, love and truth.

Before the New World Order plan can be implemented, certain changes have to take place in society: guns have to be removed from private citizens, currency has to be replaced with credit databases, implanted tracking systems, new age religion and a united economy with trade boundaries and nation states. This is a beginning of peace and tranquility but we must all be on the same path. To get to that path we must become one, therefore we must establish the One World Government.

Many New Age leaders emphasize peace and acceptance, no matter what is going on around us, as a way to ascension. It’s comforting to believe that in the coming years we will all awaken and be brought into the age of awareness where we will find peace and tranquility. My concern is that this message from multiple sources is almost identical. Professional channelers from around the world are passing along the same message that calls us to not react, to be calm and to follow quietly. “That will allow us to arrive”.

Do I think there is any deception about meditation, yoga and New Age teachings?

Until recently I would have said No, of course not. I attended a Channeling seminar and listened to the person channeling her message from a “voice” that is plural and comprised of at least 200 guides at any given time. I walked away thinking it was an interesting presentation but felt more manipulated. I was being told that in order to “arrive”, I needed to remain silent and passive. I was first intrigued by the wonderful message of the channeler, but later I felt uneasy and compelled to research on other messages being presented.

I was shocked to find the message from each one was identical, yet each one claimed to be receiving their messages from different sources. Most channelers claim to receive information from a collective body of educators from different planes sometimes even from other galaxies. All of them claim to be “helping us through the ascension”, but the trail always leads back to the same conclusion of One World Government.

Is there a hidden power with goals of world domination and control? Is there a select few individuals striving to control everything through every aspect of our lives?

As a New Age follower of over 20 years, I feel a need to take a step back and be cautious. I see manipulation occurring at levels that leave me alarmed and questioning how these people have infiltrated us so deeply. Is the movement being engineered towards a desired goal? It’s alarming that the message being broadcast in certain New Age groups is silence, mind and mass control.

New Age teachings offer an answer to people's deep needs and desires for meaning, fulfillment, hope, peace among people, spiritual experiences, guidance, and personal worth. I find most aspects I have experienced in my quest for spiritual enlightenment to be positive. I have used metaphysics both for my entertainment and soul advancement, but over the last few years it’s taken on a more serious and urgent twist.

To those who follow any group you must listen to that voice of reason and wisdom to guide you in the right direction. Do not become enticed by the smooth sounding New Age rhetoric of Chopra and other self-help gurus.

I do not believe that most of these groups are knowingly conspiring with the government to control us, but the leaders themselves have been convinced that their message is right. To keep people from forming their destinies, one crisis after another is created and “managed”. This strategy creates chaos, panic and fear, leaving a person helpless and running to the government for answers. Every time we turn around there are more and more tragedies keeping us all in a constant state of danger. This strategy confuses and demoralizes the population to the point of being faced with too many choices, and resulting in apathy on a massive scale.

The MBA and the Mexican Fisherman

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

"Not very long," answered the Mexican.

"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.

The Mexican fisherman explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.

The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs...I have a full life."

The American interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat. With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City. From there you can direct your huge enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked the Mexican.

"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the American.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? That's when it gets really interesting," answered the American, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?"

"After that, you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife, and spend your evenings having a few drinks and enjoy your friends."

A lifestyle that is simple. A lifestyle that is not as efficient but more meaningful and relaxing. To live one day at a time and take things as they come. A comparison to the lifestyle of the 50s the decade I was born into. The simpler pace a more meaningful pace. Is it nostalgia, a reminiscing and fondly remembering a time and place in one’s past or is clearly a better way before lawyers and government regulation in our lives.
Regulations for our own good. Designed by lawyers for lawyers to protect us from ourselves. Warning signs, warning labels, and security. Can we really not be sensible and practical and think for ourselves? Do we really need engineers packaging our toys to the point we need directions to get them out of the package and large warning labels of impending danger. Teams of government risk investigators determining what is safe and what we should be allowed to do and not do for our own safety. Can we not imagine a society without regulation and litigation?
All the while we keep shopping and purchasing life’s pleasures while asking ourselves is this all there is, where is the fulfillment. We need to examine our lives and where we are headed. Determine if this is the direction we want to be going. Each one of us need to do this for ourselves, our families and our community.
Take a stand of issues that you feel strongly about be it big or small and strive to transform our world back into a more beautiful place. Could it really be so simple to make a difference. If we all decide to do something about it we can make a difference and make our world a better place.
